The Scenario Sprint
Explore possible futures for your company
An intensive one-day scenario planning workshop for corporate decision-makers
The Scenario Sprint
The future of your strategic landscape is full of possibilities… and uncertainties. The “Scenario Sprint” is a specially designed workshop to help senior decision makers foresee how different futures could unfold for their company — and understand what each one might mean for their strategy and future success.
In a single, intensive day we will:
Determine the external forces and emerging trends that could have the greatest impact on your company’s strategic terrain over the next decade.
Visualize four alternative scenarios that could plausibly take shape around you during this time.
Identify opportunities and challenges you’ll be likely to face in each scenario.
Explore practical actions and responses you could prepare to take in advance.
This high-energy exercise is not about predicting the future. It’s about foreseeing a range of plausible futures — but most importantly, understanding their implications so you can make better-grounded decisions today. By the end of our session, you will have developed a portfolio of scenarios and strategic responses specific to your company’s situation.
How the Scenario Sprint works
You’re guided all the way through. You’ll go step-by-step through the scenario generation methodology, led by Woody Wade, a recognized expert in scenario planning.
You’ll work in pairs. Each company sends a team of two to complement and riff off each other’s knowledge and experience when visualizing these different futures.
You’ll gain a valuable practical roadmap. For each scenario, you’ll have identified specific opportunities and challenges: foresight that can be translated into immediate action back in the office.
Which two people should attend?
The pair of participants attending the Scenario Sprint from your company could include:
The CEO or a member of the Board of Directors.
A key member of the leadership team.
A strategist from marketing, finance, operations, or human resources.
An up-and-coming manager with leadership potential.
Short and sweet: If you share responsibility for navigating your company through uncertainty and shaping its strategic direction, this workshop is for you.
