Scenario sprint: faqs

How is scenario planning relevant to you as a decision maker?
Like all organizations that aim to be successful in the future as well as today, your organization certainly faces the need to make long-term commitments in a fast-changing environment. Scenario planning helps an organization’s leaders prepare for multiple possible futures, rather than relying on a single forecast.

What will we take away from the day?
Four plausible future scenarios for your organization, key signals to watch, strategic options for each scenario, and a framework you can use later with your leadership team or board.

What will we actually do during the workshop?
You’ll follow a structured, practical process to build four scenarios and explore them in relevant detail — through hands-on work, not lectures.

Will the scenarios focus specifically on the local landscape?
Yes, but not only. The workshop kicks off by focusing on forces shaping your immediate business environment, but we will not ignore relevant national or global trends as well.

Why attend as a two-person team?
Working in pairs strengthens understanding and makes it easier to bring new thinking back to the office.

Do we need prior experience with scenario planning?
No. The workshop is fully guided from start to finish. The process is designed for managers, not foresight specialists! The method is practical, structured, and easy to follow.

How is confidentiality ensured if multiple companies are present?
Think of the Scenario Sprint as a dozen private workshops happening in parallel. Each team works at its own table. No cross-sharing is expected.

Is there preparation required beforehand?
No. However, some firms find it useful to briefly discuss internal priorities or challenges beforehand, simply to come in more focused.

Can we use the method later with our wider leadership team?
Absolutely! The method is reusable. The portfolio of scenarios you create is meant to support internal planning and future strategy discussions.  Having gone through the process, you’ll be able to conduct your own workshop, for example if you want to repeat the exercise but with a larger number of participants in your company.
